The rural community of Talolinga is located in the department or state of Leon, about a three hour drive from the city itself, although access to the community even with four-wheel drive is difficult during the rainy season. The people in Talolinga rely on subsistence farming of beans, corn and less frequently avocados and the average family income is less than $5 per day. PGL has had a long-term relationship with Talolinga and in 2021 sponsored a potable water project that brought clean drinking water to the more than sixty families and over 300 people living in the community. PGL provided technical support and bought materials needed, while each family in Talolinga had to contribute ten days of labor to make this project a success. This project brought together people in Talolinga as well as people in Gettysburg, without whose support it would not have been such a tremendous success.
