As the year ends and a new one approaches, PGL has been active with various projects in home gardens, arts classes and a program for providing shoes to children from impoverished communities. The latter project recently distributed almost 200 shoes to children in these communities before the holidays as well as for graduations in grade schools, which in Nicaragua take place in November. This includes shoes for the sixty children at the pre-school and orphanage which PGL supports with monthly food support and for children whose families survive mostly by gleaning from the city of Leon’s trash dump.
