Project Gettysburg León has had an active summer in several different ways. We have continued our broad support for orphanages, after-school programs and the arts in Nicaragua. In Gettysburg, we have the upcoming Salsa On The Square, the city’s favorite annual dance party. The date is Friday, September 29th and please bring the dancing shoes and a little bit of money for excellent food. A Nicaraguan artist will be available for both a brief demonstration of the traditional gigantona dance and he will also be creating a sawdust carpet at the children’s booth. These temporary works of art are made from all natural materials and are meant to be destroyed at the end of the night. Please come to downtown Gettysburg for this grand event, on the city block in front of the Majestic Theater as always.
