PGL continues to support food gardens at two schools in Leon, one of them at the school for children with disabilities in the city barrio of Sutiaba. These programs provide gardening skills training for some of the kids but also provide supplemental food for everyone at the schools. Working with partner organizations, PGL also helps to support outreach gardens programs in rural Nicaragua that provides seed, materials and knowledge to over 100 families. Many of these families also have learned how to improve nutrition through food additives and how to preserve foods, including through use of solar food dryers.
