Project Gettysburg León’s mission includes the idea of cross-cultural communication and exchange with its sister city in Nicaragua. Many things have made that more difficult in the past few years. The political situation in Nicaragua is not easy, but it is still a safe place to visit. PGL is very careful with all of our partners as to what we say and do about our work, but the fact remains that a part of our work involves having Gettysburgians visit Nicaragua and Nicaraguans visit Gettysburg. We do hope within the next six months to organize a delegation from Gettysburg to one of the most beautiful places on the planet, one that is still figuring out its history but which has dep cultural traditions to explore alongside natural beauty.
