PGL hopes everyone in Gettysburg had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The holiday is not truly celebrated in Nicaragua, but many people are aware of it and understand it as a time for family, friends & food. Here in León, PGL enagages in a similar tradition year-round by providing a meal per day to over sixty children in a low-income neighborhood pre-school. Fifteen of these children are orphans who live on-site. For Christmas, PGL plans to donate extra funds for a full family meal for all of the children and their families, which will cost about $200. Pictured here is the regular purchases of food with PGL funds, a bi-weekly trip to the markets made by the school’s director.
